MIA! Updates!

by admin

Hey there,

Long time no post! I have regretfully left the face of fathom stagnant since the release of our first few t-shirts, but have no fear as from now on we will be regularly updating you with some really exciting stuff that we have coming up! Unfortunately right now I have nothing to show for the past month of activity (or lack there of), but let me tell you of a few note-worthy things coming very soon:

A new website! That’s right, no more half-assed website. We have a fully featured website on the way that will be much more interactive, easy on the eye and also a lot more seamless between the platforms we’re currently using. Said website will contain a few extra sections to browse through, including one which will hopefully contain some downloads, and also something that will cater for our newly endorsed bands.

What endorsed bands you say? Exactly! With the launch of the new website we will reveal some new additions to the fathom family who’s tunes will hopefully become familiar to your ears. If they don’t, well that’s your loss because we only take on board the best! With this addition, you should also keep your eyes open, because there will be ways you can get some fathom gear cheap, if you pay attention!

Something else you will recognize with the release of the new website, is the introduction of a brand new logo! We’ve been working closely with (the legendary) Steve Bonner for the past month or so to bring a new face to the brand! The project is almost drawing to an end and I’m very excited for the result, to say the least.

In the coming weeks we’ll be headed out and about with our good friend Trish (FWC Photo) to do a small photo shoot for the current release, and again for the the new release when it arrives! After which, we’ll be creating a look book for keepers sake, and it will be available online!

I know I just mentioned a new release, and you’re probably wanting more information. What I can say (for now) is to expect a new logo shirt, some new amazing illustrations done by more amazing artists (that will be announced in due time aswell), and also something warm - All in time for winter 2010.

That’s all I’ve got for now, but stay tuned, as we’ll have some information on the above updates in the coming weeks!

Thanks,
Blake Fathom.

The Last Salmon

by admin

Albeit slightly delayed, the first release is now available and in stock! We’re super excited to release these two amazing designs by 110 Special Black. Thank you to all those who purchased a shirt on pre-sale, as we (once again) had an amazing response. If you haven’t received your shirt already (as some have), it should be on your door step tomorrow!

The shop is now up and running, where you can pick up both of the new shirts for $30 (AUD) + shipping. Please take note that the shop will be undertaking some changes over the next week, as we are switching from BigCartel to Storenvy. If that makes no sense to you, it’s nothing to worry about, as the shop will still work 100% and you will still receive your shirts! :)

That’s all for now - If you didn’t get a shirt on pre-sale, act fast as these won’t last long!
Thanks, tell your friends.

Pre-Sale Details

by admin

I realize upon the initial revealing I left some details out that are somewhat crucial for the Pre-Sale that is starting tomorrow. For those unsure of the purpose of the pre-sale, here’s a quick rundown.

The idea of the pre-sale is to give you the ability to pick up the t-shirts at a cheaper price than normal before the actual t-shirts are released at full price and advertised widely. The period will last 24 hours, running from 8pm Tuesday (10/11/09) until 8pm Wednesday (11/11/09) night.

The pre-sale special price will be $25 per t-shirt. There is a $6 shipping fee (Australia wide) for 1-2 t-shirts. For international orders, there will be a $15 (AUD) shipping fee for 1-2 t-shirts.

How will it work?

At 8pm tomorrow the ‘shop’ link on the website (http://thelastfathom.com) will be made public, and you will be able to order your t-shirt(s) via the store. This method requires a paypal (http://paypal.com) account, and I encourage anyone that has access to a debit/credit card uses this method as it is secure, and makes it easier for us to track orders and customer information.

NOTE: For the few locals not requiring shipping that wish to pay via this method, please take the same actions explained below, and we will reply with an invoice and direct paypal address you can send the money to.

I don’t have access to a Debit/Credit card, what do I do?

Although the above method is encouraged, I do realize it’s not always an option. We will be accepting orders via Direct Debit transfers, however, you’re order won’t be as automated as the above method. If you wish to do a Direct Debit order, please email mail@thelastfathom.com containing the following information:

NOTE: If you wish to purchase multiple shirts, please repeat the second section of that form. E.G.

T-Shirt Details

A few things for those t-shirt enthusiasts out there;
• The T-Shirts being used are a Gildan Soft Style (The same as the original logo tees).
• The printing method being used is a Direct To Garment method, which allows for the full colour prints.
• A sizing chart for the t-shirts can be found here.

One Year Later.

by admin

It’s almost been a year since this project was merely a purchased domain name and a concept idea I’ve always wanted to develop. Almost a year that consisted of doodling and brain storming, a few months of procrastination, some sold out promotional logo tees and lots of partying, it’s about time we bring you something worth mentioning!

I don’t want to drag this on too much, so without further ado I welcome you to our new website! As you can see above we’ve got two brand new t-shirts that are about to drop like bombs on Sydney’s Indie clothing scene. Both designs were done by the amazing 110 Special Black (his real name is a mouthful).

We’ll be running a 24 hour pre-sale period where you can pick up these tee’s for $25 each from 8pm Tuesday (10/11/09) until 8pm Wednesday (11/11/09). Briefly after the closure of the pre-sale period we will have the tees at the printers and will hopefully have them in the mail the following Wednesday! These t-shirts are limited, and won’t be reprinted, get them while they last.

Stay tuned, we’ll have some more updates in the coming days!

Here’s some bigger shots of the shirts:

Website Closure

by admin

If you haven’t noticed already, there have been some changes made to the website. In preparation for our first official release, we’ve closed the main site, and in place are the small homepage, and this development blog. We’ll be keeping you updated about the release here, and also giving you some previews and general progress of it.

Small update, more exciting things coming soon!

The Last Update

by admin

…before you all receive your limited edition logo tees!

What a busy weekend! The tee’s arrived late Thursday afternoon and were organized, numbered, and bagged over the weekend! We got the chance to wear the shirts out and about, and to a few gigs, and I want to thank all those who commented! Before I continue, a shout out to our friends Wings Of Icarus, whose lead man Matt repped a TLF shirt for us on stage Saturday, check them out.

On to the tee’s! I’m very impressed with the quality of t-shirt and print we’ve got for these, and I hope you can all agree! To those who required postage for their tee, it’s in the mail! I hope you get a speedy delivery.

Here’s some pics! Sorry I didn’t get the chance to get any pics of the tags printed!

We look forward to you all receiving your t-shirts. Let us know when they arrive, we want to know what you think! Thank you all for making this happen, and for being apart of the launch of The Last Fathom.

Stay tuned! We’re looking at bringing out the first release for the line in coming months! We will have previews online asap!
Thanks for reading,

Under the press!

by admin

Today the blank logo tees arrived! I felt like a little kid on Christmas morning when the box came. This afternoon I dropped the tees off at the printers, and will be picking them up tomorrow afternoon to get sorting! We’ve got a busy weekend planned ahead, but in that planning includes the organizing, numbering, and packaging of all your pre-ordered tees! I still stand by my prediction that your tees will be in the mail on Monday morning! :)

Here’s how it went down:

Before taking them to the printer I tried on one of the tees I ordered for myself, and personally I think they feel amazing! For those out there familiar with American Apparel tees, the fit is very similar, and they feel just as, if not better! They are beautifully soft! That’s all for now, I’ll be updating you soon with what’s going to be happening over the next few months at TLF. Some exciting stuff.

Thanks for reading!

Tee’s Ordered!

by admin

Quite a short post, but I though I’d update you on the progress:

After an amazing response to a pre-order period, everyone who ordered a logo tee has his or her name on a t-shirt that is on its way! After a few minor issues were resolved, the t-shirts have now been ordered, and I’m hoping to receive them and have them printed by Thursday/Friday. As there will be a fair bit of sorting & numbering to do, this will get done over the weekend and I’ll have the shirts in the post first thing Monday!

Thanks for your patience,
Blake TLF.

Pre-Launch Ends Early!

by admin

Wow, I can’t believe this! Due to ALL 50 logo tees being sold, we’ve ended the pre-launch period early! I can’t thank you all enough, and the response we’ve had to this leaves me speechless! Not only have we sold all of the logo tees on pre-launch, but also 48 hours shy of the intended closure of the pre-launch period.

I want to extend my thanks especially to the members apart of the GotGames community who bought a shirt! An amazing 17 of you guys bought a t-shirt, in under 24 hours! That’s insane! Thank you!

I will be placing the t-shirt order and having print-screens made up tomorrow, and I’m hoping for the tees to be at the printers by Monday-Tuesday, and in the mail to you guys by Wednesday-Thursday.

That’s all for now! Thanks to every single one of you that read this, even if you didn’t get a logo tee. I appreciate your interest in the company and hope you will continue to follow our progress. Stay tuned, I’ll be updating you in a few days with some names of an artist we have chosen!

Thanks,
Blake TLF.
